Genome Day

  • Lincoln Square Mall 300 South Broadway Avenue Urbana, IL, 61801 United States (map)

Presented by the Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology.

Each year the IGB invites community members to participate in Genome Day, an afternoon of learning about genomes, genes, DNA, and evolution at a local Champaign-Urbana venue. At this free event, Illinois scientists offer activities related to genomics, including learning how organisms relate to each other on the Tree of Life, extracting strawberry DNA to make necklaces, and understanding how genomics pervades every aspect of our daily lives.
