About Lincoln Square

Lincoln Square has been a part of Urbana since 1964, making it one of the first enclosed shopping centers in the country. Adjacent to the historic Hotel Royer and just blocks from the University of Illinois, the mall has long been a landmark in the community.

Today, Lincoln Square is home to a diverse mix of local shops, services, wellness studios, restaurants, and the Common Ground Food Co-op. It’s also the site of Urbana’s Farmers Market and numerous community events that bring people together year-round.

More than just a place to shop, Lincoln Square is a hub for connection, creativity, and everyday living—serving Urbana as both a destination and a gathering space.
